On November 6, Mid-Prairie Wellman held an annual Greenhand camp for FFA chapters in the southeast district. The Eddyville FFA chapter sent two greenhands, Sadie Chambers and Katie Burton, to the camp to participate in an educational and enriching experience useful in developing leadership potential.

“My favorite part of the camp was when we sat down in our group and talked about what we were doing for our SAE (supervised agricultural experience) project,” stated Burton.

Cassie Miller, Agri-Power President, holds the office of Vice-President in the district and ran her own workshop. “I enjoyed doing my part in making a positive impression of FFA on these new members that may very well take my place someday.”

Chambers enjoyed an activity where participants popped balloons that contained SAE topics in them. When one had been popped, “we talked about what was involved in that particular SAE project and though about the possibilities available in that track,” explained Chambers.

“I’m glad to see some freshmen taking the initiative to develop their skills and to empower their experience in FFA,” said FFA Advisor, Patrick Powers.
